Encaustic Restoration
Elise Wagner provides restoration consultations and services for collectors at her Portland, Oregon studio. Encaustic paintings or objects that need repair deserve the expert eye and the skillful touch of an experienced encaustic painter and restorationist. Elise has restored paintings with minimal edge damage to a painting that was tragically impaled by a forklift during shipment. The goal of restoration is to minimize the appearance of any cracks, chips or wear, and if needed, shore up the structural integrity of the art piece. Not every encaustic painting or object can or should be repaired.
Restoration Projects Before & After
If you have an encaustic painting or object that needs repair, email Elise and she will contact you to discuss your restoration project. Be sure to attach both close up and full view photos of the artwork, Elise will need these in order to provide your initial restoration consultation.
When shipping an artwork for restoration choose packaging and shipping methods that properly protect the artwork, and insurance. Cost of delivery of the damaged work to Elise’s studio, and the return of the restored work to the owner will vary based on the size of the work, speed and distance. Consult with a professional shipper and ask Elise if you have specific questions about shipping.
