Confluence 4

I am thrilled to share my newest series of small works Confluence.
This new series culminated as the result of the loss of my father in recent months. The word kept entering my consciousness as I worked, this is often where titles for my work come from. Confluence became the metaphor for what is taking shape in my life and in my creative practices.
The twelve framed 8” x 8” pieces meet at the confluence of grief and reconciliation. They are personally reflective of continuing to navigate life through my work during a transformative time.
Confluence began as small editions of encaustic collagraph prints that were mounted to panels. The pieces embody a confluence of approaches I have taken with both printmaking and encaustic painting.
You can learn more about my process of creating these on my Instagram.
This is a unique and rare opportunity to add a piece from this particular series to your art collection!

“Confluence is a new series that culminated as the result of loss in recent months. The word confluence kept entering my mind as I worked. I realized that a flow was beginning to take shape in my creative practice as a result. The pieces themselves are personally reflective, nostalgic escapes in color and materials. Using small edition prints mounted to panels, the Confluence series brings together two age old forms of creating; printmaking and encaustic painting.”-Elise Wagner
